Divya Jyoti Hydropower Limited, a company established and incorporated on 21st February, 2008 as Private Limited and later converted to Public Limited for the development and operation of power projects to generate and supply electricity to National grid as its prime objective. The company is currently developing 50 MegaWatt, Marsyangdi Besi Hydroelectric Project a run off river type project in Marsyangdi river located at Besisahar Municipality, Lamjung district of Gandaki Province of Nepal. The major promoter/investor behind this company is Api Power Company Limited, a leading company in Nepal's Power sector with Power Generation and Supply to National Grid as its core business. Api Power Company Limited shall invest and shall own shares i.e majority stake holding in the Company. As a promoter in this Divya Jyoti Hydropower Limited, Api Power Company lImited invest in the equity required for the development of the Project owned.
Geographically, the Project is located between the latitude 28012'00" N to 28016' 00" and Longitude 840 21'15" E to 840 24' 40" E. The Headworks and Powerhouse lie at an altitude of EL 732m and EL 640m respectively. The effective catchment area of Marsyangdi river at the proposed headworks is around 2908km2. Based on the hydrological analysis, a design discharge of 70m3/s is derived at 49.0% probability of flow exceedance. With the available Gross head of 92m and considering the losses in water conveyance, a net head of 82.51m is available at Powerhouse. Four units of horizontal axis Francis Turbine 13.75 MW each(+10%COL) is designed to generate 50.0 MW power at design discharge of 70m3/s and 82.51m head. 4km long 132kV Double Circuit Transmission Line is being to evacuate the power from the switchyard to NEA's substation at Udipur Substation, Lamjung district. The total expected annual energy generation will be 321.535 GWh, out of which 117.890 GWh is the dry seasonal energy and 203.645 GWh is the wet seasonal energy.
The company has obtained survey license of the Project from the Department of Electricity Development, Ministry of Energy and completed the Detailed Survey of the Project. Company has entered into the Power Agreement with Nepal Electricity Authority on dated 10th Bhadra, 2075 B.S. The IEE has been approved by the Ministry of Energy and the land acquisition for the Project has been completed. Company has obtained the Generation License from Ministry of Energy, Department of Electricity Development on dated 1st Ashwin, 2074 B.S. and the construction is ongoing.
